Agile Procurement and Governance

Further details coming soon

If you had of put ‘agile’ and ‘procurement’ together in one sentence a few years ago, your work colleagues may have laughed and said something like “procurement is not agile – it holds us up”. These days agile procurement are the new buzzwords – procurement faster. There are things called ‘scrums’ and ‘sprints’, and being ‘deeply collaborative’ with potential providers.

The issue for traditional procurement (particularly in the public sector), is that by the time a procurement has been conducted, the requirement has changed or evolved. Traditional contracting approaches do not reflect the real world context of the project (i.e. rapid change with very little certainty).

So how can we maximise the concepts of agile procurement whilst ensuring good governance?
